وما كنت أرضى عن علاك بذا الجفا

وما كنت أرضى عن علاك بذا الجفا

ولكنه من غاب غاب نصيبه

ولكنه من غاب غاب نصيبه

And I would not accept such coldness from your eminence,

I was not pleased that you treated me so harshly,

But whoever is absent, his share is absent too.

But he who is absent misses out on his share.
