    ما هُوَ غَيرُ القَدَرِ المَقدُورِ

    Be patient, and cast off doubts about affairs;

    It is nothing but fate decreed.

    And many a swift-footed, sturdy she-camel—

    I said to her, my hand on the halter-rope:

    “Where is what you prepared for the journey?

    And what have you kept in store for us?”

    Then she sprang up, her clefts gaping wide,

    A wild-ass-like she-camel, strutting with her swinging tail,

    Letting thick, clotted foam stream down

    Along the sides of the peg in her pierced nose.
