When she looks toward us, she unsheathes

the swords of passion with the hands of Death.

And if she unveils her face, she reveals to beauty

the crescent of wishes amid the clouds of conjecture.

As though the darkness of doubt lay in her displeasure,

and the light of favor in the whiteness of certainty.

And if longing camps with me for the night, so does

the caravan of tears at the abode of the eyelids.
