O sun of beauty that has shone
O sun of beauty that rose
From above a branch of silver,
Above a branch of wild pear,

Look at the lofty full moon
Look upon the shining moon
When it appears between the two Farqad stars.
When it appears between the Pleiades,
وَلَهِيmy anguished longing عَلَيْهِfor him أَشَدُّfiercer مِنْthan
وَلَهِgrief البَتُولِAl-Batul (the chaste one) عَلَىover الحُسَيْنِAl-Husayn
My anguished longing for him is fiercer than
And it has overwhelmed me more than
Al-Batul’s grief over Al-Husayn.
The maiden's passion for al-Husayn.
