فَرُبَّ خَيْرٍ أَتى عَلى يَاسِ

O Badr, hasten to me with the cup.

O full moon, hasten to me with the cup

For many a good thing has come amid despair.

For much good has come from despair

ولا تقَبِّلْ يَدِي فإِنَّ فمي

ولا تقَبِّلْ يَدِي فإِنَّ فمي

أَولى بها مِنْ يَدِي ومِنْ راسي

أَولى بها مِنْ يَدِي ومِنْ راسي

And do not kiss my hand, for my mouth

is worthier of that kiss than my hand or my head.
