بِأَبوابِat the doors of نُوّامٍthose asleep عَنِto الحَمدِpraise وَالأَجرِand reward
I shall lodge my needs, when they have long been held back,
I shall lodge my needs, if long kept waiting,
at the doors of one asleep to praise and recompense—
at the doors of those asleep to praise and reward,
بِأَروَعَwith a splendid one مَصبوبٍcast عَلىin accordance with قالِبِthe mold of الحَياrain
وَأَبيَضَand a fair one مَطبوعٍstamped عَلىin accordance with سِكَّةِthe minting die of البَدرِthe full moon
with a splendid man, cast in the mold of modesty,
with a splendid one cast in the mold of rain,
a radiant one, struck from the full moon’s die.
and a fair one struck from the full moon’s die.
