قَدindeed قُلتُI said لِلرَجُلِto the man المُقَسِّمِapportioning أَمرَهhis affairs
فَوِّضentrust إِلَيهِto Him تَنَمyou will sleep قَريرَtranquil العَينِof eye
I have said to the man apportioning his affairs:
I said to the man who divvies out fate:
Entrust them to Him, and you will sleep at peace.
Entrust your matters to Him of the tranquil gaze
رُدَّrefer back الأُمورَthe matters إِلىto العَليمِthe One who knows بِغِبِّهاtheir outcome
وَتَلَقَّand receive ماwhat يُعطيكَهُHe gives it to you بِيَدَينِwith both hands
Refer all matters to the One who knows their outcome,
Return all affairs to the Knower of mysteries
And receive what He gives you with both hands.
And accept with open hands what He gives you
اللَهُGod أَنظَرُmore solicitous ليfor me مِنَthan النَفسِthe soul الَّتيwhich
تَغوىgoes astray وَأَرأَفُand more compassionate بيtoward me مِنَthan الأَبَوَينِboth parents
God is more mindful of my welfare than my soul, which
May Allah watch over me better than the self
Goes astray, and more compassionate toward me than both parents.
Which strays, and have mercy on me more than parents
