A gazelle at Rāmah, his kohl from his gaze,
Wild gazelle with kohl-lined eyes
shoots at hearts, his adornment from his neck.
Who shoots hearts with the ornaments on his neck
باتَتwas through the night تَرائِبُهُhis upper chest وِشاحَa sash وِشاحِهِhis sash
باتَت تَرائِبُهُ وِشاحَ وِشاحِهِ
وَغَدَتand was by morning مَضاحِكُهُhis smiling teeth عُقودَnecklaces عُقودِهِhis necklaces
وَغَدَت مَضاحِكُهُ عُقودَ عُقودِهِ
His upper chest was by night a sash adorning his sash,
His braids have become loosened veils
and by morning his smiling teeth were necklaces adorning his necklaces.
And his smiles strings of pearls
