غِبتُمyou departed فَأَوحَشتُمُso you made desolate مُذsince غِبتُمُyou departed الداراthe house
فَشَوقُناso our longing واقِعٌsettled وَالصَبرُand patience قَدindeed طاراhas flown away
You have gone, and since you left, you have made the house desolate.
So our longing remains, and patience has flown away.
اللَهُGod يَعلَمُknows أَنّيthat I بَعدكُمin your absence قَلِقٌrestless
أَسُحُّI pour forth دَمعاًtears عَلىupon الخَدَّينِboth cheeks مِدراراin torrents
God knows that I am restless in your absence;
I pour tears in torrents down both cheeks.
لَوif أَنَّthat نارَthe fire of اِشتِياقيmy longing بَعدَafter بُعدِكُمyour departure
دَنَتdrew near مِنَto النارِthe fire كادَتwould almost تُحرِقُburn الناراthe fire
If the fire of my longing, since your departure,
Drew near to fire, it would almost burn the fire itself.
