يُعْزَى ابنُ حَمْدانٍ لها وفِراسُهُ

You are Ibn Hamdan, to whose literary accomplishments

You are the son of Hamdan, whose manners

Ibn Hamdan and his Firas are ascribed.

The son of Hamdan is credited for them and his perception.

والشَّاعِرُ الكِنْدِيُّ لولا فَخْرُهُ

والشَّاعِرُ الكِنْدِيُّ لولا فَخْرُهُ

بِكَ ياابنَ حَمدانٍ لَنُكِّسَ راسُهُ

بِكَ ياابنَ حَمدانٍ لَنُكِّسَ راسُهُ

And the Kindi poet, were it not for his pride

And the poet Al-Kindi, if not for his pride

in you, O Ibn Hamdan, would have his head bowed.

By you, O son of Hamdan, his head would be bowed.
