قَدalready كَتبُواthey wrote عِنكَfrom you ماwhat تُصنِّفُهُyou compose it
قَد كَتبُوا عِنكَ ما تُصنِّفُهُ
قَالَsaid الأَديبُthe man of letters المُحرِّرُthe meticulous writer الفَهِمُthe discerning
قَالَ الأَديبُ المُحرِّرُ الفَهِمُ
They have written down from you what you compose:
“The discerning, meticulous man of letters said ...”
وَصَحَّفواand they miscopied قالَsaid قَادَacted as a pimp سَيِّدُناour master
وَصَحَّفوا قالَ قَادَ سَيِّدُنا
وَذاكَand that شَيءٌsomething جَرَىran بهِwith it القَلَمُthe pen
وَذاكَ شَيءٌ جَرَى بهِ القَلَمُ
And they miscopied “said” as “pimped,” our master;
and that is something the pen let slip.
