بَدا مَلِكُ الحُسْنِ بَينَ المِلاحِ

بَدا مَلِكُ الحُسْنِ بَينَ المِلاحِ

وَقَالَ على طَاعَتىِ فَاحلِفِ

وَقَالَ على طَاعَتىِ فَاحلِفِ

The king of beauty appeared among the beautiful,

The king of beauty appeared amid the adornments

And said, “Then swear to obey me.”

And said, "Swear to obey me."

وَمِن مُقْلتيهِ وَخَطِّ العِذارِ

وَمِن مُقْلتيهِ وَخَطِّ العِذارِ

حَلَفْتُ على السَّيْفِ والمُصَحَفِ

حَلَفْتُ على السَّيْفِ والمُصَحَفِ

And with his two eyes and the line of down on his cheeks,

By his glance and the lines of rebuke—

I swore upon the sword and the Qur’an.

I swore on the sword and the scripture.
