تَعَوَّذْتُ مُذْ كُنتُ خَبْرَ القُلوبِ

تَعَوَّذْتُ مُذْ كُنتُ خَبْرَ القُلوبِ

وَكَفَّ الخُطُوبِ وَكَشْفَ الكُرُوبِ

وَكَفَّ الخُطُوبِ وَكَشْفَ الكُرُوبِ

Since I came to be, I have sought refuge in knowing hearts,

I took refuge when I knew the news of hearts

And in warding off misfortunes and dispelling distress.

And stopped misfortunes and revealed sorrows

وَلي كَرْمةٌ خَفَّفَتْ حِمْلَها

وَلي كَرْمةٌ خَفَّفَتْ حِمْلَها

فَيَا لَيتَني مِثْلُها في الذُّنُوبِ

فَيَا لَيتَني مِثْلُها في الذُّنُوبِ

And I have a grapevine that has lightened its burden—

And I have a generous woman who lightened her burden

So, if only I were like it in my sins!

So I wish I was like her with sins
