قُوايَmy strength تَضْعُفُweakens عَنbefore هَمٍّa sorrow خُصِصْتُI was singled out بهِfor it
قُوايَ تَضْعُفُ عَن هَمٍّ خُصِصْتُ بهِ
فَكَيْفَso how أَحْمِلُهُcan I bear it مَعْalong with هَمِّworry for أَولادِيmy children
فَكَيْفَ أَحْمِلُهُ مَعْ هَمِّ أَولادِي
My strength falters before a sorrow reserved for me.
My strength fails before a care I'm destined to bear
How, then, can I bear it along with worry for my children?
How can I bear it along with the care for my children?
وَمَنand whoever شَكاcomplained of أَلَماًa pain يُؤْذِيهِthat hurts him فيin كَبَدٍthe liver
وَمَن شَكا أَلَماً يُؤْذِيهِ في كَبَدٍ
فَإنَّthen indeed شَكْوايmy complaint مِنcomes from آلامِthe pains of أَولادِيmy children
فَإنَّ شَكْواي مِن آلامِ أَولادِي
And if anyone complains of pain that hurts him in the liver,
And he who complains of a pain that hurts his heart
then my complaint is of my children's pains.
Then my complaint is of the pains of my children
