إنْ عَزَّ بِالمالِ مَعْشَرٌ وَمَشَتْ

إنْ عَزَّ بِالمالِ مَعْشَرٌ وَمَشَتْ

أَحْوالُ قَومٍ بِالمالِ وَالجَاهِ

أَحْوالُ قَومٍ بِالمالِ وَالجَاهِ

If a group gains honor through wealth, and prosper

If a group grows arrogant from wealth, and walk

the affairs of a people through wealth and rank,

The affairs of a people through wealth and status

فَنحنُ لِلَّهِ ثُمَّ أَنتَ لنا

فَنحنُ لِلَّهِ ثُمَّ أَنتَ لنا

والنَّاسُ قَالوا الكَمالُ لِلَّهِ

والنَّاسُ قَالوا الكَمالُ لِلَّهِ

then we belong to God; then you are ours,

Then we belong to God, and you to us

and people have said, “Perfection belongs to God.”

And people say perfection belongs to God
