وَعُمِّرْتُand I was granted long life فيin الإسلامِIslam فَازْدَدْتَso you grew بَهْجَةًmore splendid
وَعُمِّرْتُ في الإسلامِ فَازْدَدْتَ بَهْجَةً
وَنُوراًand light كَذاthus يَبدُوappears السِّراجُthe lamp المُعَمَّرُthe long-lived
وَنُوراً كَذا يَبدُو السِّراجُ المُعَمَّرُ
And I was granted long life in Islam, so you grew more splendid
and brighter; thus appears the long-lived lamp.
وَعَمَّمَand wrapped like a turban رَأْسِيmy head الشِّيبُgray hair نُوراًwith light فَسَرَّنيso it delighted me
وَعَمَّمَ رَأْسِي الشِّيبُ نُوراً فَسَرَّني
وَماand not سَاءَنيit troubled me أَنَّthat السِّراجَthe lamp مُنَوَّرُilluminated
وَما سَاءَني أَنَّ السِّراجَ مُنَوَّرُ
Gray hair wrapped my head in light like a turban, and it delighted me.
Nor did it trouble me that the lamp was illuminated.
