    clad in a robe of

    flowers, embroidered with anemones?

    ولجينٌ في عقيق

    gold within lapis lazuli,

    and silver within carnelian.

    My companion, when he reproaches

He mixed the wine with water from the

    flood, in a delicate cup,

    just as one deliberately blends

    nectar with nectar,

  19. أو كما تُطْفأ نيرا

    نُ حريقٍ بحريق

or as one quenches the flames

of a blaze with a blaze.
