    لم يبقَ فيَّ لغيرها طُرْق

    As for the gardens, love for them is love indeed;

No strength remains in me for anything else.

Look at spring's skill, for no

Skill comes close to matching its skill.

The gardens' manuscripts have come to you, to be read from

Afar, as though their lines were sweeping script.

Robes were spread over those hills,

    Woven by thunder and lightning:

    Colored tunics of wallflowers,

And sheer blue under-robes of irises.

The yellow daisies' faces kept shining,

So their light makes west and east shine.

And the eyes of spring's narcissi sparkled,

When the rain polished their eyes.

As for the chrysanthemum's smile, when

You behold it, it seems a little round box.

And it is as though the broad-bean blossoms on

The green branches were pied doves.

The gardens' blossoms, when they smile,

Beckon, and creation hastens toward them.

    إنَّ الرياضَ سكوتُها نُطْق

    So they keep speaking, though they are silent;

Indeed, the gardens' silence is speech.
