Sweet is praise of the Prophet, spread abroad and unfolded;
Praising the Prophet spread widely
so it became an earring in the people's ears.
And became well-known amongst the people

How often we ward off hardship with praise,
We often repel harm with praise
and sever the enemy clean through with praise.
And strike the enemy with eulogy

My needs demanded that I invoke blessings
My needs called upon me
and peace upon him, since that was a condition.
To send blessings and peace upon him as duty
طيبsweet الذكرthe mention ماnever اِبتَدَأتI began دُعاءa supplication
بِصَلاةwith blessings عَلَيهِupon him يَوماًon any day فَأَبطاand was delayed
Sweet is the mention of him: no supplication I have begun
The remembrance is good when supplication begins
with blessings upon him has ever been slow to be answered.
With sending blessings upon him one day so it brings reward

Misfortune pitched its tent in his refuge and came to be
Ill-omen struck his protector so he ended up
lodged among his household, stretching itself at ease.
Settling with his family dismayed

The deep sea of sins has overflowed upon him;
The floods of sins overwhelmed him
and so he has strayed from the paths of goodness.
Thus he deviated from the path of good

The calamities of fate struck him but
the cord of his hopes has grown more tightly bound to you.
Your rope of hopes for him remains tied

a visitor who has alighted at your spacious doorway.
A visitor at your vast door that halted
