    وَماطر كَفه المَيمون وافر

    O you whose bounty among people is ample,

    And whose palm's blessed raincloud is bountiful;

    وَبَدر في صَميم الدَهر زاهر

    And a flourishing branch in the gardens of glory,

    And a full moon shining in the heart of time;

    وَنور في دَياجي الكَون سائر

    And a star traveling through the darkness of time,

    And a light coursing through the universe's deep darkness;

    And whose sea of bounty flows among people,

    And whose palm's justice is unjust to wealth.

    وَريا جوده للمسك باهر

    And O you whose face is radiant with kindness,

    And whose generosity's fragrance outshines musk;

    وَغَيث نَواله للكسر جابر

    And whose favors draw in goodness,

    And whose bounty's rain mends what is broken;

    May God, my Lord, the best protector, shield you

    From the vile deceiver and every unbeliever.

    And may beauty ever spread amply over you,

    And may your sword triumph over your enemies' necks.

    For you descend from lions of the forest,

    Whose steed of perfection is ahead in the race.

    By your honor, I long to meet you,

    Yes, and I bear separation's torment patiently.

    And mine is an old love, not newly arisen,

    And a heart flying through the realms of yearning.

    Do you think it hardened by long separation,

    While, by God, an overpowering passion dwells within it?

    Love for you gives it the strongest constitution,

    And the best restraint against forsaking ardor.

    So reach out to a servant lost in thoughts of meeting you,

    A companion of yearning, keeping vigil in the darkness.

    أشم الأَنف وَالعرنين كاسر

    And honor us with Ahmad, the best giver of clothing,

    High-nosed, and a breaker of noses;

    And a fire-stick of majesty that never fails to spark,

    Every eminent elder nurtured him in learning.

    And turn aside to a house on the western side,

    Where the sphere of joy and good fortune revolves.

    And stay in al-Karkh, for the water is clear,

    And the birds of fellowship whistle in the gardens.

    And, by Ya-Sin and Sad, visit my home,

    So you may return, departing with joy and reward.

    For my fire, O son of Yusuf, is the finest fire,

    And my garden is radiant with guidance and knowledge.

    وَفَوقَ مَحلك الإقبال هامر

    So may glory never cease to rain upon you,

    And may good fortune pour down over your abode;

    And may your life ever endure in honor,

    And your mind be piercing, delving deeply into knowledge,

    So you may exact full vengeance from your enemy,

    So his head lies disheveled in the dust.
