لا أبتغي عنهم ولا أُشريهم

لا أبتغي عنهم ولا أُشريهم

حتى يُلاقيني حمامُ مماتي

I seek no substitute for them, nor would I barter them away,

I seek none in their place, nor would I trade them away,

until the doom of my death comes to meet me.

until my appointed death comes to meet me.

ليسوا بأنذالٍ ولا بأشابةٍ

فيما ينوبُ القومَ لا باللاتِ

They are neither ignoble men nor a motley rabble

They are neither base men nor a motley rabble

when calamity befalls the tribe—no, by al-Lāt!

in what befalls the people—no, by al-Lat!
