لهوتُI reveled بسربالin the tunic الشبابyouth مُلاوةfor a long while
فأصبحthen it became سربالthe tunic الشبابyouth شبارِقاtatters
I reveled in the tunic of youth for a long while;
I indulged in the robe of youth, sweetness,
Then the tunic of youth became tatters.
So the robe of youth became radiant dawns.
فأصبحthen it came to be بيضاتfair maidens الخدورcurtained chambers قدalready اجتوتhad come to loathe
لداتيmy peers وشمنand they eyed الناشئينthe youths الغرانِقاthe fair, tender ones
And now the fair maidens of the curtained chambers had come to loathe
The cheeks of virgins became full moons
My peers, and turned their eyes toward the fair, tender youths.
For my beloved, and the blossoms of youth.
فأقسمتso I swore لاnot أشريهI sell it حتىuntil أملَّهI tire of it
بشيءfor anything ولاnor أملاهI tire of it حتىuntil يفارِقاit departs
So I swore that, until I tired of it, I would not sell it
So I swore I will not buy it until I am bored of it
For anything, nor tire of it until it left me.
Or fill it up until it leaves me.
