أَمّا إِذا يَعدو فَثَعلَبُ جِربَةٍ

أَو ذِئبُ عادِيَةٍ يُعَجرِمُ عَجرَمَه

أَو ذِئبُ عادِيَةٍ يُعَجرِمُ عَجرَمَه

But when he runs, he is a fox of the fields,

When the fox of a mangy she-fox runs,

Or a wolf of a raiding pack, racing swiftly along.

Or the wolf of a howling she-wolf growls his growl
