  1. شَديدُ وَهص قَليل الرَهصِ مُعتَدلٌ

    بِصَفحَتَيهِ مِنَ الأَنساعِ أَندابُ

    Strong in his tread, little prone to hoof bruising, well proportioned;

    On his two flanks are scars left by the harness straps.

  2. مِن صَوبِ سارِيَةٍ عُلَّت بِغادِيَةٍ

    تَنهَلُّ حَتّى يكادَ الصُبحُ يَنجابُ

    From the downpour of a night cloud, followed by a morning shower,

    It pours until dawn is almost revealed.
