I wish to forget the memory of her, yet it is as though

I want to forget her, yet it's as though

Layla appears to me on every path.

Layla appears to me in every way

وَقُل أُمُّ عَمروٍ داؤُهُ وَشِفاؤُه

وَقُل أُمُّ عَمروٍ داؤُهُ وَشِفاؤُه

لَدَيها وَرَيّاها الشِّفاءُ مِن الخَبلِ

لَدَيها وَرَيّاها الشِّفاءُ مِن الخَبلِ

And say: Umm Amr is his ailment, and his cure

And say to Umm Amr, his ailment and cure

Lies with her, and her fragrance is the cure for madness.

Are with her, and seeing her cured him of madness
