لَعَمرُكَby your life إِنّنيindeed I وَأَباand Abu (father of) رِياحٍRiyah
عَلىamid طولِthe length of التَهاجُرِmutual estrangement مُنذُsince حينِa while
By your life, as for me and Abu Riyah—
For your life! Abū Ḥiyāḍ and I

يَرانيhe sees me دونَهُbeneath him وَأَراهُand I see him دونيbeneath me
he surely hates me, and I hate him; and moreover,
He hates me, I hate him too
he sees me as beneath him, and I see him as beneath me.
He sees himself above me, I see him below me

جَرىwould flow الدَمَيانِthe two bloodstreams بِالخَبَرِwith the tidings اليَقينِcertain
