إِلىto كُلِّevery قَومٍpeople سُلَّمٌa ladder يُرتَقَىone may ascend بِهِby it
إِلى كُلِّ قَومٍ سُلَّمٌ يُرتَقَى بِهِ
وَلَيسَand there is no إِلَيناto us فيamong السَلاليمِthe ladders مَطلَعُa way up
وَلَيسَ إِلَينا في السَلاليمِ مَطلَعُ
To every people there is a ladder by which one may climb;
To every people there is a ladder by which one may ascend;
but among all ladders, none gives access to us.
but among the ladders there is no way up to us.
وَيَهرُبُand flees مِنّاfrom us كُلُّevery وَحشٍwild beast وَيَنتَهيand arrives
وَيَهرُبُ مِنّا كُلُّ وَحشٍ وَيَنتَهي
إِلىto وَحشِناour wild beasts وَحشُthe wild beasts الفَلاةِthe wilderness وَيَرتَعُand grazes
إِلى وَحشِنا وَحشُ الفَلاةِ وَيَرتَعُ
Every wild beast flees from us; yet there makes its way
And every wild beast flees from us, and there come
to our wild creatures the beast of the wilderness, and grazes freely.
to our wild beasts the beasts of the wilderness, and they graze.
