Who will convey on my behalf a message
and Shajnah? Rise, you two; take what is due, or leave it.
And my lament that a people seized the right and deposited it

صِياحَ بَناتِ الماءِ أَصبَحنَ جُوَّعا
The Rudaynian spears shriek among us and among you,
The she-camels bellow among us and among you
like the cries of the daughters of the water, grown hungry.
The crying of the daughters of water who have become hungry

We mingled houses with houses, so they became
We mixed the houses with the houses so they became
our cousins; whoever shoots at them shoots at us too.
The sons of our paternal uncle, he who throws them throws us together
