اليومُthe day عامٌa year إذاwhen الأحبابُthe loved ones لمnot أرهمْI see them
اليومُ عامٌ إذا الأحبابُ لم أرهمْ
والشهرُand the month دهرٌan age وساعاتُand the hours of النوىseparation عُمُرُa lifetime
والشهرُ دهرٌ وساعاتُ النوى عُمُرُ
A day is a year when I do not see my loved ones,
And a month is an age, and the hours of separation a lifetime.
