بِالسَمعِ مِن بَصَرِ الفُؤادِ

بِالسَمعِ مِن بَصَرِ الفُؤادِ

عَرَفتُ أَرضي مِن سَمائي

Through hearing, from the heart’s sight,

I distinguished my earth from my heaven.

وَبِيُمنِ عِرفانِ اليَمينِ

وَبِيُمنِ عِرفانِ اليَمينِ

سَرَت إِلى اليُسرى خُطائي

سَرَت إِلى اليُسرى خُطائي

And through the blessing of knowing the right hand,

My steps moved toward the left.

وَوَرا أَمامي غادَرَ الأَشياخَ

وَوَرا أَمامي غادَرَ الأَشياخَ

مِن قَومي وَرائي

مِن قَومي وَرائي

And the rear of my front left the elders

Of my people behind me.
