الاِسمُthe name لِلوَصفِin relation to the description غَداhas become باطِناًhidden
الاِسمُ لِلوَصفِ غَدا باطِناً
وَهوَand it لِمَعنىin relation to the meaning كَونِهِits being ظاهِرُmanifest
وَهوَ لِمَعنى كَونِهِ ظاهِرُ
The name has become hidden in relation to the description,
yet it is manifest in relation to the meaning of its being.
كَالشَمسِlike the sun يُبديreveals عَينَهاits very self نورُهاits light
كَالشَمسِ يُبدي عَينَها نورُها
وَهوَand it لَناfor us عَنfrom كَنهِهاits true essence ساتِرُveiling
وَهوَ لَنا عَن كَنهِها ساتِرُ
Like the sun: its light reveals its very self,
yet veils its true essence from us.
