تَجَلَّت فَاِنجَلى نَجمي وَبَدري

تَجَلَّت فَاِنجَلى نَجمي وَبَدري

وَشَمسي حينَ صارَ لَها مَغيبُ

وَشَمسي حينَ صارَ لَها مَغيبُ

She revealed herself, and my star and full moon became clear,

My moon and my sun and my star

and my sun, when it came to have a setting.

appeared radiant then went afar

فَأَبعَدَها بِهِ عَنّي وَمِنها

فَأَبعَدَها بِهِ عَنّي وَمِنها

أَراني أَنَّهُ مِنها قَريبُ

أَراني أَنَّهُ مِنها قَريبُ

So he distanced her from me through it, and from her

They set me apart from what I hold dear

he showed me that he was close to her.

Yet their image stays with me near
