لُذseek refuge بِالثَناءِin praise عَلىof الإِلَهِGod
لُذ بِالثَناءِ عَلى الإِلَهِ
مِنَfrom الهِجاءِreviling لِخَلقِهِof His creation
مِنَ الهِجاءِ لِخَلقِهِ
Seek refuge in praise of God
Take refuge in praising God
from lampooning His creation.
from reviling His creation.
وَاِستَهدِهِand ask Him for guidance لِسَبيلِهِto His path
وَاِستَهدِهِ لِسَبيلِهِ
وَاِستَجدِهِand ask Him for bounty مِنfrom رِزقِهِHis provision
وَاِستَجدِهِ مِن رِزقِهِ
And ask Him to guide you to His path,
And ask Him to guide you to His path,
and beg Him for a share of His bounty.
and ask Him for a share of His provision.
فَعَلَيهِfor upon Him حَقُّكَyour due واجِبٌis obligatory
فَعَلَيهِ حَقُّكَ واجِبٌ
إِنif أَنتَyou قُمتَyou fulfilled بِحَقِّهِthe duty owed to Him
إِن أَنتَ قُمتَ بِحَقِّهِ
Then your right is incumbent upon Him,
For your due is binding upon Him,
if you uphold His right.
if you render Him His due.
