إِن كانَ فِعلي لَهُ مُراداً

إِن كانَ فِعلي لَهُ مُراداً

فَلَم بِما قَد أَرادَ يُعصى

فَلَم بِما قَد أَرادَ يُعصى

If my action is willed by him,

If my deeds have a purpose

then why is he disobeyed through what he has willed?

Then why should He who willed be disobeyed?

وَلَم دَعاني إِلى أُمورٍ

وَلَم دَعاني إِلى أُمورٍ

مِنّي لَها الخُلفُ لَيسَ يُحصى

مِنّي لَها الخُلفُ لَيسَ يُحصى

And why has he called me to matters

And why call me to things

in which my failures to comply are beyond counting?

That I cannot do, beyond all counting?
