أراقِبُهُI watch him فيin حالَةِa state of الخَوفِfear وَالرَجاand hope
وَأَصبِحَand I enter the morning بَينَbetween الحالَتَينِthe two states كَماjust as أَمسيI enter the evening
I watch him in a state of fear and hope.
I watch him in fear and hope
And in the morning I am between the two states, just as in the evening.
And become between the two states as I become in the evening

When the desolation of bashfulness holds me back from him,
If loneliness seizes me without him, the desolation of life
Longing calls me to him in the expansiveness of intimacy.
Longing calls me to him in the simplicity of humanity
وَأَصبَحَand has become قَلبيmy heart مُستَقَرّاًfirmly settled يَقينُهُits certainty
بِمَشهَدِهِof his presence القُدسِيِّsacred فيin كَونيmy existence الحَسِيِّsensory
And my heart has become steadfast in its certainty
And my heart becomes settled, its certainty
Of his sacred presence within my sensory existence.
With its holy vision in my sensory universe
