I am the philosopher himself; and he who

seeks certainty through his conjecture is a would-be philosopher.

Assent has been established by negating my conception

of any meaning other than him that can be described in thought.

The simple intellect would not have known his beauty,

had it not come to know him through his description.

His beloved’s boon companion is not like one enslaved by love—

a captive yearning for tidings of passion.
