لِلَّذي لَم يَبدُ مِنهُ
Describing virtue is no virtue
Describing merit is no merit
for one who has shown none.
For one who does not show it.

صَفُ مَن لَم يُروَ عَنهُ
Likewise, no one is described as learned
Just so, knowledge cannot describe
from whom nothing has been transmitted.
One who does not demonstrate it.

And the misguided among people is one who recounts
And he misleads people, who relates
what he has not clearly understood.
What he has not fully grasped.
