وَمَدارِ دارَةِ قُطبٍ أَربابِ الوَفا

وَمَدارِ دارَةِ قُطبٍ أَربابِ الوَفا

بَعدَ اِنتِسابِهِمُ إِلى أَهلِ الصَفا

بَعدَ اِنتِسابِهِمُ إِلى أَهلِ الصَفا

And by the circle’s orbit around the pole of fidelity’s masters,

The orbits of the pole and the lords of loyalty

after their affiliation with the people of purity;

After joining the people of purity,

وَمَواقِعِ التَقبيلِ لِلعَهدِ الَّذي

وَمَواقِعِ التَقبيلِ لِلعَهدِ الَّذي

يَتَعاهَدونَ عَلَيهِ مِن حَسَنِ الوَفا

يَتَعاهَدونَ عَلَيهِ مِن حَسَنِ الوَفا

and by the places of kissing for the covenant that

And the places of kissing the covenant which

they pledge to one another out of noble fidelity;

They commit to with excellent loyalty,

وَدِعايَةِ الداعي إِلَيهِ وَمَن أَجا

وَدِعايَةِ الداعي إِلَيهِ وَمَن أَجا

بَ إِلى نَداهُ مُعَرِّفاً وَمُعَرَّفا

بَ إِلى نَداهُ مُعَرِّفاً وَمُعَرَّفا

and by the caller’s summons to it, and whoever responded

And the call of the caller to it, and whoever came

to his bounty, making known and being made known;

Responding to his call, introducing and being introduced,

وَشَهادَةِ الشُهَداءِ لِلمَعنى الَّذي

وَشَهادَةِ الشُهَداءِ لِلمَعنى الَّذي

أَخفوا مَحاسِنَهُ وَلَيسَ بِهِ خَفا

أَخفوا مَحاسِنَهُ وَلَيسَ بِهِ خَفا

and by the witnesses’ testimony to the meaning whose

And the testimony of witnesses to the meaning which

beauties they concealed, though no obscurity lies in it:

They concealed its beauties, and it is not concealed,

ما حَلَّ سَمعي مِثلُ حُلوِ حَديثِكُم

ما حَلَّ سَمعي مِثلُ حُلوِ حَديثِكُم

وَالطَرفُ لَم يَعدوكُم مُستَطرِفا

وَالطَرفُ لَم يَعدوكُم مُستَطرِفا

nothing has reached my ears like your sweet speech,

My hearing has never known the sweetness of your talk,

and my gaze has not passed beyond you in search of novelty.

Nor have my eyes admired others, exploring.
