وَآجيرَةً جاءَت بِحُسنٍ مُبدِعٍ

وَآجيرَةً جاءَت بِحُسنٍ مُبدِعٍ

نَسَخَ الغَرامَ بِكُلِّ عِشقٍ أَوَّلِ

نَسَخَ الغَرامَ بِكُلِّ عِشقٍ أَوَّلِ

And Ajirah came with wondrous beauty

She came with inspiring beauty

that effaced passion for every earlier love.

And kindled love with every first ardour

لَم تَلقَ صَبّاً والِهاً إِلّا سَلا

لَم تَلقَ صَبّاً والِهاً إِلّا سَلا

بِجَمالِها حُبَّ الجَميلِ المُجَمِّلِ

بِجَمالِها حُبَّ الجَميلِ المُجَمِّلِ

She met no yearning, distraught lover who did not forget,

She met no loving enamoured one except he was

through her beauty, his love for the beautiful one, the beautifier.

Smitten by her beauty with the love of beauty ever-beautifying

وَإِذا تَراءَت لِلعَذولِ تُعيدُهُ

وَإِذا تَراءَت لِلعَذولِ تُعيدُهُ

كَلِفاً بِها مَغرى بِعَذلِ العُذَّلِ

كَلِفاً بِها مَغرى بِعَذلِ العُذَّلِ

And when she appears before the reproacher, she turns him

And if she appeared to the abstainer she would make him again

into one infatuated with her, eager to reproach the reproachers.

Dotingly enslaved, seduced by the coquetry of the abstainer

وَتَبَدَّلَ العُشّاقُ غاوٍ في الهَوى

وَتَبَدَّلَ العُشّاقُ غاوٍ في الهَوى

وَبِها يُقامُ العُذرُ لِلمُتَذِلِ

وَبِها يُقامُ العُذرُ لِلمُتَذِلِ

And the lovers changed, astray in passion;

And the lovers wandering in passion changed

and through her, an excuse is made for those who abase themselves.

And through her the plea of the abject lover was granted
