بِسَهمِ السِحرِ عَن عَيني غَزالِ
Who will defend me against eyelids that shoot
An arrow of magic from a gazelle’s two eyes?
غَزانيassailed me طَرفُهُhis glance حَتّىuntil سَبانيtook me captive
غَزاني طَرفُهُ حَتّى سَباني
لأَنتَصِرَنَّI shall surely avenge myself مِنهُon him بِمَنthrough one who غَزاwaged war ليfor me
لأَنتَصِرَنَّ مِنهُ بِمَن غَزا لي
His glance assailed me until it took me captive;
I shall surely avenge myself on him through one who waged war for me.
