وَنبّئتُها يَوماً أَلَمّت بِجَنَّةٍ

وَنبّئتُها يَوماً أَلَمّت بِجَنَّةٍ

تَنَزّه طَرفاً في الأَزاهيرِ وَالخُضَر

تَنَزّه طَرفاً في الأَزاهيرِ وَالخُضَر

And I was told that one day she visited a garden,

One day I reported to her when she strolled in a park

to delight her gaze among the flowers and greenery.

Wandering, looking at flowers and greenery

فَأَبصَرَ رَبُّ الباغِ رُمّانَ صَدرِها

فَأَبصَرَ رَبُّ الباغِ رُمّانَ صَدرِها

فَقالَ اِطرَحيهِ عَنكِ يا لِصَّةَ الشَجَر

فَقالَ اِطرَحيهِ عَنكِ يا لِصَّةَ الشَجَر

Then the garden's owner saw the pomegranates of her bosom,

The Lord of the garden saw her bosom pomegranates

and said, "Cast them away, you thief of the trees!"

And said: "Cast them off you, O tree thief!"

فَناداهُ نورُ الجِلّنارِ بِخَدِّها

فَناداهُ نورُ الجِلّنارِ بِخَدِّها

كَذَبتَ فَهَذا النُورُ أَطلَعَ ذا الثَمَر

كَذَبتَ فَهَذا النُورُ أَطلَعَ ذا الثَمَر

Then the pomegranate blossom on her cheek called to him:

The light of the pomegranate called him with its cheek

"You lie, for this blossom brought forth this fruit!"

"You lied! This light brought forth this fruit.”
