يا مَن يُضيّعُ عُمرَهُ

مُتَمادِياً في اللَهوِ أَمسِك

مُتَمادِياً في اللَهوِ أَمسِك

O one who squanders his life,

Persisting in idle amusement—stop!

وَاِعلَم بِأَنّكَ لا مَحا

وَاِعلَم بِأَنّكَ لا مَحا

لَةَ ذاهِبٌ كَذَهابِ أَمسِك

لَةَ ذاهِبٌ كَذَهابِ أَمسِك

And know that you will, without

Fail, pass away as your yesterday has passed.
