1. وَكَيفَ تَنامُ العَينُ بَعدَ فِراقِهِم

    وَقَد رَحَلَ القَلبُ المشَوقُ مَعَ الرَكبِ

    And how can the eye sleep after parting from them,

    when the longing heart has departed with the caravan?

  2. يَقُولونَ سَلِّ القَلبَ بَعدَ فِراقِهِم

    فَقُلتُ وَهَل قَلبٌ فَيَسلو عَنِ الحُبِّ

    They say, “Console the heart after parting from them.”

    So I said, “But is there a heart left to forget love?”
