And all wealth in which a rich man takes pride
Every wealth that makes the wealthy lost
Is taken back by death or loss.
Will fade with death or loss of all its cost

And suppose my good fortune gathered the whole earth for me—
My ancestors made land their gift to me
Does death not fold away what it gathered for me?
Does not death quench what they bequeathed to me?
