O slayer of the lovesick one, with none to shield him,

by God, do not consent to my destruction.

Your two eyes have brought death upon me,

so the heart needs a healer.

Were it not for you—by the Merciful—I would not be one

    counted among lovers.

Your two sidelocks have stung my heart—will you

graciously grant an antidote for the sting?
