يا غُرَّةً تَسخَرُ بِالبَدرِ

يا غُرَّةً تَسخَرُ بِالبَدرِ

وَمُقلَةً تَنفُثُ بِالسِحرِ

وَمُقلَةً تَنفُثُ بِالسِحرِ

O radiant brow that mocks the full moon,

and eye that breathes enchantment,

وَمَبسَمّا نُظِّم مِن جَوهَرٍ

وَمَبسَمّا نُظِّم مِن جَوهَرٍ

وَماؤُهُ مِن أَعطَرِ الخَمرِ

وَماؤُهُ مِن أَعطَرِ الخَمرِ

and smiling mouth strung from jewels,

and its moisture is of the most fragrant wine,

وَمَنطَقا أَثبَتَ مِن سِحرِهِ

وَمَنطَقا أَثبَتَ مِن سِحرِهِ

أَحَرَّ في قَلبي مِنَ الجَمرِ

أَحَرَّ في قَلبي مِنَ الجَمرِ

and speech that, through its magic, has planted

within my heart something hotter than embers,

وَشادِنا تَيَّمني شَخصُهُ

وَشادِنا تَيَّمني شَخصُهُ

وَوَكَّلَ الأَجفانَ بِالسَهرِ

وَوَكَّلَ الأَجفانَ بِالسَهرِ

and young gazelle whose form has enslaved me

and charged my eyelids with sleeplessness:

تاجِر بي اللَهَ تَفُز بِالرِضى

تاجِر بي اللَهَ تَفُز بِالرِضى

وَتَربَحِ الجَنَّةَ في التَجرِ

وَتَربَحِ الجَنَّةَ في التَجرِ

Trade with God through me, and you will win His favor

and gain Paradise in the trade.
