How splendid is Abu al-Sinan,
My father Abu Sinan is a pearl

Among the brave, virtuous men

لِ كَما تَهيمُ بِهِ القيانْ
The lions among men fear him,
Whom the lions dread
just as the singing girls are enamored of him.
As the deer are smitten with love for him

وَبِحُسنِهِ يُصبي الحيانْ
So by his might he brings misery to his foes,
With his might he afflicts the foe
and by his beauty he enchants the two clans.
And with his grace he makes the friends thrive
