دُنياكَyour worldly life مَوموقَةٌbeloved
دُنياكَ مَوموقَةٌ
أَكثَرُmore مِنthan أُختِهاits sister
أَكثَرُ مِن أُختِها
Your worldly life is more beloved
than its sister.
لَمdid not تُبقِspare مِنof جَزلِهاits sturdy ones
لَم تُبقِ مِن جَزلِها
شَيئاًanything وَلاnor شَختِهاits slender ones
شَيئاً وَلا شَختِها
It has spared none of its sturdy ones,
nor any of its slender ones.
أَتىcame upon عَلىupon ذَرِّهاits ants الآthe one who
أَتى عَلى ذَرِّها الآ
تيcomes عَلىupon بُختِهاits Bactrian camels
تي عَلى بُختِها
The one who swept away its ants
also swept away its Bactrian camels.
فَاِنظُرso look إِلىat صُنعِهاwhat it has wrought
فَاِنظُر إِلى صُنعِها
وَاِنظُرand look إِلىat بُختِهاits Bactrian camels
وَاِنظُر إِلى بُختِها
So look at what it has wrought,
and look at its Bactrian camels.
