شَعباً يُعَدُّ وَلا بَطناً وَلا فَخِذا
Would that the earth did not bear upon its surface
I wish the desert would encounter
Any tribe to be counted, nor any clan, nor any subclan.
No tribes to count, no dunes, and no oasis,
أَعارَكَlent you اللَهُGod ماwhat أَعطاكَgave you مَوهِبَةًas a boon

God lent you what He bestowed upon you as a boon;
God gave you what gift He endowed you with,
Had what you received been a gift, it would not have been taken back.
Had what you got been granted, it wouldn’t be seized.
