When a thing grows familiar, a young man makes light of it,

so he counts it neither a hardship nor a blessing,

as with his spending of his lifespan and his swallowing

sweet saliva, in which he senses no taste.

And he has no doubt he will meet death, yet it is as though it were

a tale that came from a liar making a false assertion.
